Our Story

Since childhood, I've always loved dressing up. It was pure joy for me – experimenting with colors, textures, and different styles. My mom, bless her heart, always encouraged this passion. Out of five siblings, I was the one who truly embraced the love for fashion.

As I grew older, this love only deepened. In my early twenties, I discovered the magic of accessorizing. I'd pair classic glass bangles with denims and a simple tee, stack rings on both hands, or simply add a statement necklace to elevate any outfit. Over the years, I collected a treasure trove of unique pieces, each one holding a special memory. One day, while chatting with my best friend, Sanket, I jokingly remarked, "I have SO many earrings, I could literally open my own shop and sell them all!"

Sanket, ever the encourager, replied, "Damn right, girl! Why don't you do that? What's stopping you? I don't just call you a fashionista for no reason – I truly love your selections in everything fashion. I'm sure you'll do great here too."

I was taken aback. "Are you serious? Should I actually do this?" "Hell Yes! Go for it, D!" he exclaimed. And just like that, a seed was planted. The idea of Dha.Ra was born.

Why the name Dha.Ra?

Choosing the perfect name for my brand was a real adventure! I wanted something unique and memorable, something that truly resonated with the soul of the brand. The jewellery market is overflowing with brands, and I wanted to stand out from the crowd.

That's when I turned to my dear friend Dhwani B, an incredibly talented and creative jewellery designer. She suggested, "Why don't you use your first name as the brand name? It's short, simple, and instantly recognizable." I loved the idea! Using my own name felt personal and authentic. It also resonated with the soul of the brand simply because I wouldn't offer any of these pieces if I myself wouldn't be comfortable in wearing and flaunting them. But I wanted something a bit more special, something that truly reflected the essence of the brand. After playing around with different combinations, Dha .(dot) Ra was born!

Dha.Ra is a jewellery brand from Mumbai, India, born out of pure love, hence the tagline "With all the Love ❤️ and Feels ✨." Every piece of jewellery is carefully handpicked by me, Dhara Prajapati, with a whole lot of heart. Each collection is curated with meticulous attention to detail, reflecting my passion for unique, bold and timeless designs.

Dha.Ra offers bold, statement pieces that make a striking impact, whether worn alone or layered with other jewellery. I personally focus on selecting pieces that are not only one-of-a-kind but also versatile enough to elevate any occasion.

About the Founder: Dhara Prajapati

Dha.Ra is the brainchild of Dhara Prajapati, a seasoned fashion professional with over a decade of experience. After completing her Masters in BioScience Infection and Immunity from the University of Leeds, UK, Dhara unexpectedly found her true calling in the fashion industry. She embarked on a journey of her creative side and thereby pursuing a degree in Fashion Designing and diving headfirst into the world of fashion styling and public relations & communications.

This diverse background has deeply influenced her understanding of fashion and style, culminating in the launch of Dha.Ra – a jewellery brand that offers one-of-a-kind and sophisticated pieces.
